Set in Toronto architect Peter Dickinson’s O’Keefe Centre (now the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts), the two-person exhibition The Weight of Air / Camelot (2017, Don Hewak, Leala Hewak) explored the present and past lives of Dickinson’s modernist buildings. The photographs, excerpted from the larger project The Weight of Air, are not conventional architectural records but rather brief encounters with the architecture and its inhabitants; the digital installation Camelot unearths fleeting moments from archival images of the O’Keefe Centre in the early 1960s.
